In the US, low back pain is one of the
most common conditions and one of the leading causes of physician
visits. In fact, at least four out of five adults will
experience low back pain at some point in their lives. The
causes of low back pain can be very complex, and there are many
structures in the low back that can cause pain.
Max Well's therapists begin with a
complete back evaluation, testing for possible problems with all
the structures of the back. The information collected during
the initial evaluation will be used to develop a personalized plan
of care, which may involved ultrasound, e-stim, mechanical
traction, and therapeutic exercises to increase core muscle
strength and flexibility as well as increase spine mobility.
It is also our philosophy to incorporate hands-on manual therapy
which includes massage, soft tissue mobilizations, myofascial
releases, trigger point releases, craniosacralr releases, and
manual stretching. We use manual therapy to decrease muscle
pain and improve flexivility. Patients are then able to
continue daily activity and exercise with correct body alignment
and less pain. Upon completion of Max Well's Back
Care Program, the patient will be armed with skills to
prevent future injury and to sustain a healthy way of
life.
